Know any cool churches in England? I was asked by a friend of mine-Ken at UMM, so I told him about a speaker that taught recently at my local church. His name is Keith Hazell of Life Links International, who has a very strong Enlish accent and currently resides in Canada. I told him that he'll probably be a good resource to finding this answer to this question. I searched through the ministry's website, and found this....

    Dream on Buckingham"

Recently I had a dream that was audible-"Buckingham Lake/Palace, which I wrote on my dream site. I then thoughtfully and started praying for the 15 sailors that was recently abducted by Iran along their coastal waters...

Iran to try Britons for espionage (March 25th of 07') on timesonline
" FIFTEEN British sailors and marines arrested by Irans Revolutionary Guards off the coast of Iraq may be charged with spying.
A website run by associates of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the Iranian president, reported last night that the Britons would be put before a court and indicted.
Referring to them as insurgents, the site concluded: If it is proven that they deliberately entered Iranian territory, they will be charged with espionage. If that is proven, they can expect a very serious penalty since according to Iranian law, espionage is one of the most serious offences.
The warning followed claims by Iranian officials that the British navy personnel had been taken to Tehran, the capital, to explain their aggressive action in entering Iranian waters. British officials insist the servicemen were in Iraqi waters when they were held.
The penalty for espionage in Iran is death. However, similar accusations of spying were made when eight British servicemen were detained in the same area in 2004. They were paraded blindfolded on television but did not appear in court and were freed after three nights in detention.
Iranian student groups called yesterday for the 15 detainees to be held until US forces released five Revolutionary Guards captured in Iraq earlier this year.
Al-Sharq al-Awsat, a Saudi-owned newspaper based in London, quoted an Iranian military source as saying that the aim was to trade the Royal Marines and sailors for these Guards.
The claim was backed by other sources in Tehran. As soon as the corpss five members are released, the Britons can go home, said one source close to the Guards.
He said the tactic had been approved by Ayatollah Khamenei, Irans supreme leader, who warned last week that Tehran would take illegal actions if necessary to maintain its right to develop a nuclear programme.
Iran denounced a tightening of sanctions which the United Nations security council was expected to agree last night in protest at Tehrans insistence on enriching uranium that could be used for nuclear weapons.
Lord Triesman, the Foreign Office minister, met the Iranian ambassador in London yesterday to demand that consular staff be allowed access to the Britons, one of whom is a woman. His intervention came as a senior Iranian general alleged that the Britons had confessed under interrogation to aggression into Irans waters.
Intelligence sources said any advance order for the arrests was likely to have come from Major-General Yahya Rahim Safavi, the commander of the Revolutionary Guards.
Subhi Sadek, the Guards weekly newspaper, warned last weekend that the force had the ability to capture a bunch of blue-eyed blond-haired officers and feed them to our fighting cocks.
Safavi is known to be furious about the recent defections to the West of three senior Guards officers, including a general, and the effect of UN sanctions on his own finances.
A senior Iraqi officer appeared to back Tehrans claim that the British had entered Iranian waters. We were informed by Iraqi fishermen after they had returned from sea that there were British gunboats in an area that is out of Iraqi control, said Brigadier-General Hakim Jassim, who is in charge of Iraqs territorial waters. We dont know why they were there.
Admiral Sir Alan West, the former head of the Royal Navy, dismissed suggestions that the British boats might have been in Iranian waters. West, who was first sea lord when the previous arrests took place in June 2004, said satellite tracking systems had shown then that the Iranians were lying and the same was certain to be true now."

  • "(CNN) -- If you've been mesmerized by the drama, like millions of other viewers watching coverage of the Olympic Games, you have heard the most heroic, inspirational stories of athletes reaching the pinnacle of international competition. Or, at least you think you have. The truth is American viewers are missing out on the best of the Games. Coverage of the Olympics in the United States understandably focuses on American athletes. That is as it should be, but not to this degree. By concentrating mainly on Americans' stories, the NBC network is depriving U.S. viewers of some of the most fascinating, moving and exciting aspects of the Olympics. How much have you heard, for example, about Guor Marial, who marched in the opening ceremony under the banner of "Independent Olympic Athletes"? Marial became a marathoner after running for his life since he was a young boy in Sudan, growing up in the middle of one of the deadliest wars of the 20th century. He learned to run as he fought to escape from those who killed his siblings and relatives and later kidnapped and enslaved him. Imagine such a story of tragedy and redemption, from slavery to triumph. His life is a most unbelievable odyssey, culminating at the Olympic Games. His parents live in a village with no electricity or running water. He hasn't spoken to them in years and hopes someone will get word to them to try to get to a television to watch their son.....
Every athlete has a story, and there are almost 15,000 athletes at London 2012. In addition to the rivalries at the pool and the very touching images of U.S. athletes' parents suffering and celebrating in the stands, we would all gain from hearing more about, say, Tahmina Kohistani, the lone woman in the Afghan delegation, who endured threats and taunts to keep her out of the Games. Because some people in some countries, including hers, are convinced that sports are no place for women. In Afghanistan, people have been killed for helping girls learn to read and write. Kohistani deserves a gold medal just for making it to the Games....
American viewers, I have no doubt, would cherish the opportunity to learn more about the first women to compete for Saudi Arabia, Wojdan Ali Seraj Abdulrahim Shahrkhani and Sarah Attar, who represent a country where women are not only banned from participating in sports, they're even banned from watching sports events in major stadiums....

(The summary of that discussion is recounted for Arthur Greeves in They Stand Together.) That evening's discussion was important in bringing about the following day's event that Lewis recorded in Surprised by Joy: "When we [Warnie and Jack] set out [by motorcycle to the Whipsnade Zoo] I did not believe that Jesus Christ was the Son of God, and when we reached the zoo I did."
-1944-"On seven consecutive Tuesdays, from February 22 to April 4 at 10:15 to 10:30 p.m., Lewis gave the pre-recorded talks known as "Beyond Personality." Taken together, all of Lewis' BBC radio broadcast talks were eventually published under the title Mere Christianity. From November 10, 1944 to April 14, 1945, The Great Divorce was published in weekly installments in The Guardian. 'Til it was a battle cry
    I'll come back
    When you call me
    No need to say goodbye

    Just because everything's changing
Doesn't mean it's never been this way before
All you can do is try to know who your friends are
As you head off to the war

Pick a star on the dark horizon
    And follow the light
You'll come back when it's over
    No need to say goodbye

You'll come back when it's over
    No need to say goodbye

Now we're back to the beginning
It's just a feeling and no one knows yet
But just because they can't feel it too
Doesn't mean that you have to forget

Let your memories grow stronger and stronger
    'Til they're before your eyes

  • "...So, twice a link has been furnished for the Pevensie children to cross over into Narnia. The first time there was but one child; the second, that number increased twofold, to Lucy and Edmund. Now it will double again, for the next time the link appears, all four children will enter into Narnia. And again, it is not at the children’s behest that this link appears, for they run into the wardrobe not seeking a way to another world but to escape judgment and punishment in this one, for having accidentally broken a window. But the link does appear, solely at the discretion of the Ruler of Narnia. He knows when the link is needed and he provides it at the proper time. However, none of the children are prepared for the wardrobe to be an entrance into Narnia at this time, for their focus is on what is happening in their world. “Just as it was in the days of Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of Man. People were eating, drinking, marrying and being given in marriage up to the day Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all” (Lk. 17:26,27). Jesus is the ark of God. He is the one way (Jn. 14:6) that God has provided for us to escape the coming flood of God’s wrath upon this world. The wardrobe is an ark of wood for the children, though they are not prepared for all that it means to enter into that ark, just as most people do not fully realize what it means to believe in Jesus until after they have entered into him through faith. It is only afterwards that they grow in that faith, day by day. Susan epitomizes this experience, for she is the logical one, the one who relies on reasoning and logic to explain every situation she encounters. But the first time she enters Narnia through the wardrobe she suddenly comes face to face with a situation for which logic cannot furnish a reasonable cause. One moment she is in her familiar, ordinary world, and the next she is suddenly in the unfamiliar, extraordinary world of Narnia. What is a logical mind to do when confronted with a seemingly incomprehensible situation? It must react in the only way it knows to react when faced with that which it cannot explain. Susan looks out at the incredible world of Narnia that somehow manages to exist within the wardrobe and says the one word, the only word, that she can: “Impossible!” A moment earlier Susan had been in her tiny little world and now. . . . This is similar to when we accept Christ: Before, our familiar world was all we knew and if we are honest and admit it, we ourselves were the main focus in that world. But now, with Christ . . . there is all of infinity and the God of no limits and love beyond comprehension, and so many other things. Impossible! But it is true nonetheless...."

  • "...is a series of three epic fantasy ar>dventure films directed, co-written and produced by Peter Jackson and based on J. R. R. Tolkien's 1937 fantasy novel The Hobbit. The films are, by subtitle, An Unexpected Journey (2012), The Desolation of Smaug (2013), and There and Back Again (2014). The Lord of the Rings is originally a sequel to the novel, thus the series acts as a prequel to Jackson's film trilogy.
Several actors will reprise their roles from The Lord of the Rings, including Ian McKellen, Andy Serkis, Ian Holm, Hugo Weaving, and actors whose characters did not appear in the novel such as Cate Blanchett, Christopher Lee, Elijah Wood, and Orlando Bloom. Also returning for the production, among others, were co-writers Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens, illustrators John Howe and Alan Lee, art director Dan Hennah, and cinematographer Andrew Lesnie. As with the original trilogy, props will generally be crafted by Weta Workshop and visual effects managed by Weta Digital. Additionally, composer Howard Shore, who scored The Lord of the Rings, will return to score the film series.[3] The most significant new involvement in the series is the participation of Guillermo del Toro, originally chosen to direct the films, as co-writer.
Set in the fictional world of Middle-earth, the three films follow the hobbit Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman), hired by the wizard Gandalf (McKellen), to accompany 13 dwarves led by Thorin Oakenshield (Richard Armitage) on a quest to reclaim the Lonely Mountain from the dragon Smaug (Benedict Cumberbatch).
The first film in the series premiered at the Embassy Theatre in Wellington, New Zealand on 28 November 2012.[4] Around 100,000 people were expected to line the red carpet on Courtenay Place, and the entire event was to be broadcast live on TV in New Zealand, as well as streaming over the Internet.[5] ...

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
    "..Plot
On his 111th birthday, the Hobbit Bilbo Baggins decides to write down the full story of the adventure he took 60 years prior for his nephew Frodo. Bilbo writes about how, before his own actual involvement, the Dwarf Thrór becomes King of Erebor and brings an era of prosperity to his kin until the arrival of Smaug the dragon. Smaug destroys the nearby town of Dale before driving the Dwarves out of Erebor and taking their hoard of gold. Thrór's grandson, Thorin, sees King Thranduil and his Wood-elves on a nearby hillside and is dismayed to find them taking their leave rather than aiding his people, resulting in Thorin's everlasting hatred of Elves.
Following this, Bilbo is tricked by the wizard Gandalf the Grey into hosting a party for Thorin and his company of Dwarves: Balin, Dwalin, Fili, Kili, Dori, Nori, Ori, Oin, Gloin, Bifur, Bofur, and Bombur. The party doubles as Bilbo's recruitment as the Dwarves' "burglar" to help them steal their treasure back from Smaug. Bilbo reluctantly joins the company on their journey to the Lonely Mountain. Traveling onward, the company gets captured by Trolls, but Bilbo is able to stall the Trolls from eating them until dawn, when Gandalf saves the company by exposing the Trolls to sunlight, turning them into stone. They search the Trolls' cave and find treasure and Elven blades. Thorin and Gandalf each take an Elf-made blade—Orcrist and Glamdring, respectively—with the latter finding an Elven shortsword, which he gives to Bilbo.
The company then encounters Radagast the Brown, a wizard who lives in Greenwood. He tells them of an encounter at Dol Guldur with a necromancer who has been corrupting the forest with dark magic. The company is then chased by Orcs on Wargs, with Radagast covering their escape. Gandalf leads the company through a stone passage to Rivendell as the Wargs and Orcs are slain by Elven riders led by Lord Elrond. Elrond discloses the indication on the company's map of the Lonely Mountain of a secret door that will be visible only on Durin's Day. Gandalf talks with the White Council—Elrond, Galadriel and Saruman the White—about his involvement with the Dwarves, presenting a Morgul-blade Radagast obtained from Dol Guldur as a sign that the necromancer is linked to the Witch-king of Angmar and may attempt to use Smaug. The others are skeptical, not believing the necromancer to be a true threat.
The company journeys into the Misty Mountains without Gandalf. Whilst taking refuge in a cave, they are captured by Goblins and taken to their leader, the Great Goblin. Bilbo becomes separated from the Dwarves and falls into a cave where he encounters Gollum, who accidentally drops a mysterious ring while killing a stray Goblin to feed on. Picking up the ring and placing it in his pocket, Bilbo finds himself confronted by Gollum. They play a riddle game, wagering that Bilbo will be shown the way out if he wins or eaten by Gollum if he loses. After Bilbo eventually wins by asking Gollum what he has in his pocket, Gollum realizes that he lost the ring, (rightly) suspects that it is in Bilbo's possession and attacks the Hobbit. Bilbo discovers that the ring grants him invisibility and evades a furious Gollum, following him to an exit. Bilbo considers killing Gollum, but ultimately spares him out of pity and escapes.
    (see Greedy)

Meanwhile, the Great Goblin reveals to the Dwarves that Azog, an Orc war-chief who beheaded Thrór and lost his forearm to Thorin in battle outside the Dwarven city of Moria, has placed a bounty on Thorin's head. By this time, Gandalf arrives and saves the Dwarves from the Goblins, killing the Great Goblin during their escape. Bilbo rejoins the group, keeping the ring he found secret. The group is then ambushed by Azog and his hunting party, and take refuge in trees. Thorin charges Azog, but is defeated and knocked to the ground. Bilbo saves Thorin from being decapitated by the Orcs before the company is saved by Eagles, who fly them to safety to the Carrock. Gandalf heals the unconscious Thorin, who acknowledges Bilbo for his bravery. The company sees the Lonely Mountain in the distance, where Smaug awakens. ...

The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
    "..Plot
Gandalf the Grey gives his life in battle against the Balrog, giving the Fellowship of the Ring time to escape from the Mines of Moria.
Weeks later, Frodo Baggins and Samwise Gamgee continue their journey to Mordor to destroy the One Ring and, with it, the Dark Lord Sauron. One night, they are attacked by the ring's former owner Gollum. The pair capture Gollum, but Frodo takes pity on him, understanding the burden of the Ring
    (see Greedy)
. "Frodo persuades Gollum to guide them to Mordor. Sam immediately distrusts Gollum on sight and warns Frodo that Gollum will betray them.
In Rohan, Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli pursue the Uruk-hai who have taken Merry and Pippin prisoner. Meanwhile, Rohan's King Théoden has been entranced by Gríma Wormtongue, who is secretly in the service of Saruman the White. Saruman has his Orcs and Wild Men of Dunland lay siege to the lands. Théoden's nephew Éomer accuses Gríma of being a spy; Gríma has him banished for undermining him. Éomer travels to the countryside to gather the remaining men of the Rohirrim. Éomer's army later ambush and kill the Uruk-hai holding Merry and Pippin. Merry and Pippin flee into Fangorn forest and meet Treebeard, the oldest of the Ents.
Frodo, Sam and Gollum traverse the Dead Marshes, evading a Nazgûl. Upon reaching the Black Gate, they find it closed and guarded by Orcs. Gollum convinces the pair that he will lead them to an unguarded entrance. After learning of Éomer's ambush, Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli discover Merry and Pippin's trail. The trio are confronted by Gandalf, reborn as Gandalf the White. Gandalf joins with the trio as they journey to Edoras. After arriving, they free Théoden from Gríma's spell, and inform the king of his son Théodred's death. Théoden moves his people to the stronghold Helm's Deep for safety. Fearing Helm's Deep will not survive, Gandalf leaves to find Éomer. Gríma flees to Orthanc and informs Saruman of a weakness in the outer wall of Helm's Deep. Saruman dispatches his vast army to the stronghold.
Meanwhile, Gollum struggles with his loyalty to Frodo and his consuming need for the Ring. When Sam and Frodo are captured by Rangers of Ithilien, Frodo reveals Gollum's presence to spare his life; Gollum nevertheless feels betrayed, and begins plotting against Frodo. As Théoden's forces travel to Helm's Deep, they are attacked by Saruman's Warg riders and Aragorn is thrown from a cliff to his apparent death in a raging river. In Rivendell, Elrond convinces his daughter Arwen to abandon her love for Aragorn and leave Middle-earth with her fellow Elves. Meanwhile, Éowyn, Theoden's niece, nurtures a growing affection for Aragorn.
Learning of Frodo's Ring, the Rangers' captain, Faramir, orders that it be sent to Gondor. In Rohan, the barely-alive Aragorn washes up on the river bank. With the aid of Théodred's old horse Brego, he makes his way to Helm's Deep and warns Théoden that he has seen Saruman's army headed for the fortress. Theoden gathers his men to fight against Saruman's army of Uruk-hai. When night falls a battalion of Elves arrive to re-enforce the men of Rohan. In Fangorn Forest, Merry, Pippin, Treebeard and other Ents hold a council to decide on the role of the Ents in the war with Saruman.
The battle of Helm's Deep begins between the Uruk-Hai and Rohirrim with Aragorn and his companions. Explosives are used against the weakness in the wall, allowing the Orcs to breach the fortress. In Fangorn, Treebeard and the other Ents initially refuse (see GoodnewsEverybody.com Life: Determination, Endurance, Perseverance, Persevere, Press-On, Survival, etc.. ..) to get involved in the war until Pippin shows them that Saruman has decimated the forest; enraged, Treebeard commands the Ents to seek vengeance. Aragorn leads Théoden, Legolas and the remaining Rohirrim to attack the Uruk-hai, allowing the Rohirrim's women and children to escape into the mountains. Gandalf appears, accompanied by Éomer and his men. The combined forces (see cause the Uruk-hai to flee into Fangorn, where the Ents and their Huorn allies attack them. At Isengard, the Ents defeat the Uruk-hai and break the river dam, drowning the surviving Orc defenders, flooding Isengard, and stranding Saruman in his tower.
Faramir has the Hobbits taken to Osgiliath. Faramir's forces are attacked by Orcs led by a Nazgûl. Frodo succumbs to the Ring's influence and attacks Sam, but comes to his senses when Sam tearfully reminds him of their friendship. The Nazgûl is defeated and flees. Faramir, understanding the danger of the Ring, frees the Hobbits and sends them on their journey, joined by Gollum. Gandalf remarks that Sauron will seek retribution for Saruman's defeat, stating that hope now rests with Frodo and Sam. At that same moment, Gollum vows to reclaim the Ring by having "her" kill Frodo and Sam....

God Save the Queen From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
    "..Lyrics in the United Kingdom
The phrase "God Save the King" is much older than the song, appearing, for instance, several times in the King James Bible.[12] Scholes says that as early as 1545 "God Save the King" was a watchword of the Royal Navy, with the response being "Long to reign over us".[13][14] He also notes that the prayer read in churches on anniversaries of the Gunpowder Plot includes words which might have formed part of the basis for the second verse "Scatter our enemies... assuage their malice and confound their devices".."

"God Save the Queen (standard version)

    God save our gracious Queen,
    Long live our noble Queen,
    God save the Queen:
    Send her victorious,
    Happy and glorious,
    Long to reign over us:
    God save the Queen.

    O Lord, our God, arise,
    Scatter her enemies,
    And make them fall.
    Confound their politics,
    Frustrate their knavish tricks,
On Thee our hopes we fix,
    God save us all.

    Thy choicest gifts in store,
    On her be pleased to pour;
    Long may she reign:
    May she defend our laws,
    And ever give us cause
To sing with heart and voice
    God save the Queen.

When the monarch of the time is male, "Queen", and all female pronouns are replaced with "King" and male pronouns. In addition, the lyrics of the 3rd verse are modified slightly to read, "With heart and voice to sing, God save the King"."

  • Q&A: What sparked the London riots? By Thair Shaikh, CNN August 8, 2011 4:42 p.m. EDT cnn.com

  • "London (CNN) -- There is much speculation surrounding the circumstances of the death of 29-year-old Mark Duggan in north London on Thursday. His shooting at the hands of police while he was riding in a cab sparked a weekend of rioting and looting across the capital that continued into Monday.
Officers from Operation Trident -- the Metropolitan Police unit that deals with gun crime in London's black communities -- stopped the cab during an attempted arrest and soon afterwards shots were fired, the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) said. Duggan, a father of four, was fatally wounded.
Since Saturday evening 215 people have been arrested and 27 people charged according to the British Home Secretary Theresa May, who returned home early from holiday Monday. More than 35 officers have been injured.
Are you there? Send your videos and photos to CNN iReport.
    How did Duggan die?
There are varying accounts of what happened -- initial reports from the IPCC said that during an apparent exchange of gun fire police officers fired two shots and Duggan died at the scene.
There was a suggestion that officers could have come under fire from the car carrying Duggan.
This assumption came from the fact that a bullet had lodged in a police radio worn by an officer at the scene, raising speculation he might have been fired at from the vehicle.
A non-police issue handgun was also recovered at the scene where Duggan was shot dead, the IPCC said.
However, a report in the Guardian Monday said that initial ballistics tests on the bullet found lodged in the police radio suggested it was police issue and therefore had not been fired by Duggan.
The IPCC said it would not comment on the Guardian report until all ballistics and forensic tests were complete.
Some reports suggested that Duggan was held down by police and shot in the head, but the IPCC has denied this.
"Speculation that Mark Duggan was 'assassinated' in an execution style involving a number of shots to the head are categorically untrue," the IPCC said in a statement.
    What happened next?
On Saturday evening at around 5.30pm local time about 120 people, including members of Duggan's family and community workers, marched to Tottenham police station in north London, only a short distance from the scene of the shooting.
The march was peaceful according to reports, with protesters calling for "justice" and an investigation. Local roads were closed and traffic diverted.
About two hours later violence erupted, with gangs attacking police cars, shops, banks and other buildings. There was widespread looting in and around Tottenham.
London Riots: A Blast From The Past Or A Glimpse Of The Future?
What sparked the rioting is unclear but police said: "We believe that certain elements, who were not involved with the vigil, took the opportunity to commit disorder and physically attack police officers, verbally abuse fire brigade personnel and destroy vehicles and buildings."
Why did the riots spread to other parts of London?
On Sunday evening and in the early hours of Monday, rioting and looting was reported from several other parts of London, including Brixton in south London, Enfield in north London and Oxford Street in central London, the capital's main shopping district.
The rioting also spread to parts of south London on Monday evening, including Lewisham and Peckham, where vehicles were set ablaze and shops looted.
Police said the continued rioting and looting in other parts of the capital were "copycat" events conducted by opportunists and criminals.
    Was social media a factor?
London's Deputy Assistant Commissioner Steve Kavanagh told CNN that smart phones and social networks like Twitter had been used by criminals to liaise. "It's a group of individuals using modern technology to cause chaos," he said.
Other reports say BlackBerry's messaging service was a popular means of communication to spread news about the violence.
Are there any parallels with the 1985 riots? Only superficially, but some might argue that today, as in 1985, there is a racial element to the troubles.
In 1985 Floyd Jarrett, who was of Afro-Caribbean origin, was stopped by police near the Broadwater Farm estate in Tottenham on suspicion of driving with a forged tax disc.
A few hours later officers raided the nearby home of his mother, who collapsed and died during the raid. Rioting erupted shortly afterwards. Like the recent troubles, it was a protest outside Tottenham Police Station which sparked the 1985 conflict.
    What next?
The IPCC is conducting an investigation. Its commissioner said in a written statement: "[We are] investigating not only the actions of the officer firing the shots but also the planning, decision making and implementation of the police operation. Our lines of enquiry include the bullets fired and any firearms used and recovered."

George Muller - Robber of the cruel streets

George Mller by J. Gilchrist Lawson, Wholesome Words Christian Biography Resources
"Muller began his labors in Bristol in 1832, as co-pastor with his friend Mr. Craik, who had been called to that city. Without salaries or rented pews their labors were greatly blessed at Gideon and Bethesda Chapels. The membership more than quadrupled in numbers in a short time. Ten days after the opening of Bethesda there was such a crowd of persons inquiring the way of salvation that it took four hours to minister to them. Subsequently Gideon Chapel was relinquished, and in the course of time two neighboring chapels were secured. These churches, though calling themselves non-sectarian, were usually classed with the people commonly known as "Plymouth Brethren." Muller continued to preach to them as long as he lived, even after he began his great work for the orphans. At the time of his death he had a congregation of about two thousand persons at Bethesda Chapel.
In 1834 Mr. Muller started the Scripture Knowledge Institution for Home and Abroad. Its object was to aid Christian day-schools, to assist missionaries, and to circulate the Scriptures. This institution, without worldly patronage, without asking anyone for help, without contracting debts; without committees, subscribers, or memberships; but through faith in the Lord alone, had obtained and disbursed no less a sum than 1,500,000 ($7,500,000) at the time of Mr. Muller's death. The bulk of this was expended for the orphanage. At the time of Mr. Muller's death 122,000 persons had been taught in the schools supported by these funds; and about 282,000 Bibles and 1,500,000 Testaments had been distributed by means of the same fund. Also 112,000,000 religious books, pamphlets and tracts had been circulated; missionaries had been aided in all parts of the world; and no less than ten thousand orphans had been cared for by means of this same fund."

  • "... was born Aug. 2, 1895 in England. Although his father was an Anglican pastor and he was raised in a Christian home when he was a teenager he was asked by a family friend if he belonged to Christ. It was then that he asked Jesus Christ to be his savior.
He was educated at Trinity College in Cambridge and while there had the vision for Inter-Varsity Fellowship, now known as Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship. He served in WW I and was injured and sent home to recover. While in the hospital he was given a tract telling of C. T. Studd’s work in the Belgian Congo. He knew God’s call for him to join this work.
In the months to come he met and married Studd’s daughter, Pauline and they sailed for Africa to join her father. After serving the Africans Norman found himself in a dire predicament. He found he could not love them as he knew God would have him do. It was then that God gave him and Pauline a verse that would be the cornerstone for the rest of his life’s work...Galatians 2:20...

Rees Howells - Part 1: Prelude

"One of the most effective intercessors known to the 20th century, Howells and his student intercessors in Wales were even called upon to intercede with God for the wellbeing of Britain during the Second World War. p. 231-257
    PRAYER WARRIOR OR INTERCESSOR

A prayer warrior can pray for a thing to be done without necessarily being willing for the answer to come through himself; and he is not bound to continue in the prayer until it is answered. But an intercessor is responsible to gain his objective, and he can never be free till he has gained it. He will go to any lengths for the prayer to be answered through himself. But once a position of intercession has been gained, tested and proved, the intercessor can claim all the blessings on that grade, whenever it is Gods will for him to do so.
Norman Grubbs biography reveals that there were important spiritual truths that Howells discovered regarding the ministry of an intercessor from the Holy Spirit and George Muellers life in 19th century England.
    Gods call to intercession
And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it, but I found none... Ezekial 22:30
    A Model of Intercession
God identified with mankind to the extent that He became man. If we are one with the Godhead or if the Holy Spirit is doing his work through us, then we will also manifest this pattern in our life. Christ also was willing to die to His own desires and interests for the benefit of mankind. His death on the cross represented the ultimate sacrifice.
    20th Century Example of Intercession
On March 29, 1936 Rees Howells came to the Bible College he had established in Wales and was called forth in regard to Hitlers threat to Britain: Prayer has failed. We are on slippery ground. Only intercession will avail. God is calling for intercessors — men and women who will lay their lives on the altar to fight the devil, as really they would have to fight the enemy on the western front. It was made clear that a soldier at the front has no say in where he goes and what he does; he cannot take holidays or attend to the claims of the home and loved ones as other people can; and the Lord was telling them that if, as readily as that, some would become bond slaves to the Holy Spirit for every creature, and would throw their lives into the gap (Ezekial 22:30), He would give the victory and avert war. A large number of staff and students made the surrender. We came right through said Mr. Howells, and I knew from that time on, Hitler was no more than a rod in the hands of the Holy Ghost.
    Surrender and Intercession
We had thought that there was some virtue in our surrender: that we, with thousands of others, would be the people to evangelize the world in this generation. But now He (Holy Spirit) had come, and we were out of it—except in so far as our bodies would become the temples in which He would dwell and through which He would work. He said, I have not come to give you joy, or peace, or victory. I have not come to give you any blessing at all. You will find all that you need in Jesus. But I have come to put you to the cross, so that I may live in your body for the sake of a lost world; (Col 3:3; 2Cor 4:10; Gal 2:20).
Pray for laborers, a remnant of powerful intercessors right now. May they lay down their lives on the altar day after day... willing to die for the sake of the Truth! May they be closed into God Himself... calling for His desires... pleading for His purposes, crying for His attention! Dead to themselves... alive unto Christ! Separate. Hidden. Cleansed, Holy vessels of warfare, armed for the battle ahead, filled with the Holy Ghost. God, call forth your intercessors for this generation!

"When Elizabeth became Queen in the November of 1558, it was widely believed that she would restore the Protestant faith in England. Mary's persecution of Protestants had done much damage to the standing of Catholicism in England, and the number of Protestants in the country was steadily increasing. Although Elizabeth had adhered to the Catholic faith during her sister's reign, she had been raised a Protestant, and was committed to that faith. Elizabeth's religious views were remarkably tolerant for the age in which she lived. She believed sincerely in her own faith, but she also believed in religious toleration, and that Catholics and Protestants were both part of the same faith. "There is only one Christ, Jesus, one faith" she exclaimed later in her reign, "all else is a dispute over trifles." She also declared that she had "no desire to make windows into men's souls".

More Than Gold poster According to a More Than Gold press release to mark the opening of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the London Organising Committee is calling for thousands of bells to be rung across our nations. The mass bell ringing on Friday 27th July will begin at 8.12am and will last for 3 minutes. LOCOG are encouraging the tolling of ‘any bell, anyone, anytime’ (www.allthebells.com). It’s an opportunity for everyone to get involved in a special commission by the Turner Prize-winning artist and musician Martin Creed. More Than Gold, the agency helping churches make the most of the Games, is calling on Christians and churches everywhere to join in and use this moment to ‘Stop and pray at 8.12am on Friday 27th July for God’s Kingdom to come and for a turning to come in our nations.’ The press release said the opportunity to get involved in All the Bells comes on the final day of More Than Gold’s 70-day Prayer Relay – a cascade of praise and prayer throughout the UK which began on 18th May and has toured the country running alongside the Olympic Torch Relay. Batons containing prayers have been handed over from community to community and as the torch and the prayer relay have travelled through each area, individuals and churches have taken time to pray for the Games and those involved, and for their own communities. Throughout the London Olympic and Paralympic Games More Than Gold will be helping thousands of churches to provide outreach, hospitality and service for this once in a lifetime opportunity. Church leaders have added their encouragement and are urging everyone to get involved in this unique event: ‘This is a fantastic opportunity for churches to make some noise to show that we support the Olympics and the hard work that all of the athletes have put in. I would urge bell ringing teams in our churches to join in this peal and for as many of us as possible to get together to pray for the 2012 Olympics,’ said the Bishop of Dorchester, the Rt. Revd Colin Fletcher. Rev Ian Bunce, head of Mission for the Baptist Union of Great Britain said: ‘This is an opportunity to be part of a prophetic act, a turning point which will shape the future of our nation. Let's make a noise, talk about God, pray for peace, pray for reconciliation and commit to love God's world and his people.’ ‘London 2012 has presented the churches and the nation with a wonderful opportunity for positive community engagement. The Salvation Army is delighted to join with this initiative to pray for success and safety for all involved,’ said Lieut.- Colonel Ivor Telfer, The Salvation Army UK and the Republic of Ireland. OneSheep is a brand they have created to describe the digital platform, skill, tools, coaching and knowledge that they are assembling, says Brecunier. OneSheep's outputs are not just for their organizations; they are available to others who may also benefit from the sharing of resources. “By drawing in people from various backgrounds and skill sets, OneSheep is able to meet the needs of today’s world by providing the means to reach audiences across the globe with the proper methods,” Brecunier adds. The HCJB Global update says this summer, OneSheep is excited to be working on an exciting project in cooperation with 2K Plus International at the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London. “OneSheep’s objective is to improve the online presence of Planet Sport—a fifteen minute audio program produced by 2K Plus and syndicated to radio stations around the world, and to help their staff better understand and utilize digital technology. They intend to leave their partner better equipped and skilled to continue developing online ministry that connects,” Brecunier writes. Currently, OneSheep is working from FEBA UK’s office in Worthing, England, which coincidentally is in the same building as 2K Plus. To date, they have successfully re-launched Planet Sport’s website, www.planetsport.tv , unified branding and developed a framework of consistency on Planet Sport social networks, and recruited a global team to provide content during the Olympic Games which run July 27 – August 12. The HCJB Global update says that a group of seven university students from several different countries will spend four weeks with the OneSheep team as interns, lending social media, video, and presentation skills to the project while gaining invaluable media experiences. It adds: “They will be joined by additional team members from China, Ukraine, and the Arab world.” The HCJB Global update explained that content produced by the OneSheep and Planet Sport teams won’t be featured solely on Planet Sport’s sites. “It will be made freely available via the Internet to international partners of all organizations involved, as well as any others wishing to use the content. This sharing embodies two more elements of the OneSheep approach: to do more with less, and to equip partners who are unable to produce or participate themselves for various reasons, such as lack of funding, staff, or know-how, with resources relevant to their mission,” the update stated. The update goes on to say that with the Opening Ceremonies of the Olympic Games fast approaching, OneSheep is working hard at improving their work process, practicing with different types of online content, and making practical applications to the things they have been dreaming of and laboring to build. “Over the past months and now continuing through into autumn, they are effectively assisting Planet Sport in moving its fifteen-minute radio program into a well-rounded, multi-media venture, working with 2K Plus to improve its website, social media presence and understanding of today’s media environment,” Brecunier writes. OneSheep imagines results that emerge from its efforts that are greater than the project mandate. “They see a convergence of learning, sharing, and growth in media effectiveness for all parties involved. It is a creative and cost-effective way of looking at media, and a potentially paradigm-shifting approach to content production and distribution,” Brecunier reports, adding: “With ambitious forward thinking goals set by FEBA UK and HCJB Global, the OneSheep concept is proving to be an answer to the rapidly shifting and fluid world of digital media and global audiences.” " 100,000 to Die at the London Olympics ?

Susan Boyle From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"... (born 1 April 1961)[1] is a Scottish[2] singer who came to international public attention in 2009 after she appeared as a contestant on Britain's Got Talent.[3] Boyle became known when she sang "I Dreamed a Dream" from Les Misérables in the competition's first round,[4] first broadcast in the United Kingdom on 11 April 2009.[5] In the final of the third series of the show, Boyle finished in second place, behind dance troupe Diversity.
When she appeared on the Britain's Got Talent stage for the first time, the audience and the judges appeared apprehensive and judgmental of her frumpy appearance.[6] Upon finishing her song, she received a standing ovation from the live audience and unanimous praise from the judges.[7] She has been dubbed "The Woman Who Shut Up Simon Cowell".[1] Cowell is reported to be setting up a contract with Boyle with his Syco Music company label, a subsidiary of Sony Music.[8]
The contrast between the audience's first impression of her when she appeared on stage compared to the ovation she received afterwards triggered global interest. Articles about her appeared in newspapers worldwide, while the numbers who watched videos of her audition have set an online record.[9] Within nine days of her televised debut, videos of her audition, subsequent interviews of her, and her 1999 rendition of "Cry Me a River" had been viewed a combined total of over 100 million times on the Internet"

Church Worker Wows Brit Talent Judges CBNNews.com Wednesday, April 15, 2009
" Susan Boyle may not look like a typical reality show contestant, but the unemployed church volunteer is now known around the world for her recent unexpected performance.
The 47-year-old from Scotland appeared April 11 on the first episode of reality show series Britain's Got Talent.
American Idol's Simon Cowell is a judge on the show and when Boyle walked onto the audition stage, he didn't seem to have high expectations.
Sarcastically, he asked where she was from, how old she was and what she dreams of becoming. The crowd laughed after she revealed her age and said her dream was to be a professional singer.
But the laughing quickly turned to cheering when she started singing. Click here to watch all of Boyle's performance.
Boyle's rendition of I Dreamed a Dream from Les Miserables has made her the front runner to win Britain's Got Talent.
Cowell says he's even lining up a record deal for her.
Before the audition, Boyle said she did most of her singing in her church choir. "

"Nora Lebeka, 31 years of age, was diagnosed with Meningitis two years ago; an inflammation of the membranes that cover the brain and spinal cord. She was always vomiting, feeling dizzy and shaky. Her mobility and coordination had become very poor, leaving her unable to walk.
As the Man of God held her hands, He infused the healing anointing into her body as she sat on the wheelchair. He also touched her chest and commanded strength into her body.
The Man of God commanded the devil to leave her, then assisting her to her feet. He then blew a dose of the anointing on her, which perfected every part of her body.
Immediately, the disease that had caused her excruciating pains and her inability to walk, left her body completely. She started to take her first coordinated steps, wheeling out the chair in which she was wheeled. It was really a sight to behold.

As the Man of God approached him, expectation was written all over his face with his eyes set on Pastor Chris. The anointing was transferred into his knees and his legs, disposing of the pains in his bones and joints as Pastor Chris touched him.
Shouts and screams of joy resounded from the congregation, as they witnessed Thabang rise from the wheelchair, assisted by the man of God.
